It’s that time of year again for our annual Liberation Picnic – please join us as we celebrate the 73nd Anniversary of the Liberation of Guam.

This year’s Guam Society Picnic will be at Ft Meade, Maryland. Details about the event are provided below and on the attached flyer. We are looking forward to a fantastic picnic and to catching up with all of our members, family and friends.

This year’s chairman, Gerald Corpuz, along with the Liberation Picnic Committee have a great day planned for all to enjoy.

When: Saturday, July 15, 2017; 12-7pm Where: Pavilion 4, Ft Meade, Maryland What: Pot Luck: Bring a Dish/Dessert to share and two 2-liter Soda or Water/ BYOB – no glass bottles If you wish to bring meats to BBQ, please arrive no later than 10 a.m. Bring your Party Gear! (tents, canopies, chairs, etc.)
Planned activities include:
· Music, Entertainment and Dancing
· Raffles and Vendors
· 2017 Guam Society Scholarship Presentation
· Meet the 2017 Guam Cherry Blossom Princess and Junior Princess Access to the base requires DoD identification. If you do not have a DoD ID, we will need additional information from you and everyone 18 years and older, so we can submit a list to the Fort Meade Security to grant base access. The following are required: Last name, First Name, Middle Name (as written on your driver’s license or State ID); Date of Birth; Driver’s License or State ID number; and the issuing State for your ID or Driver’s License.

Events like this are only possible with the support and dedication by members of the Guam Society of America. If you are not a member of the Guam Society of America, please consider joining the Guam Society at the picnic.

*Directions to Pavilion 4, Ft Meade:
From 295 Baltimore-Washington Parkway, exit 175 Annapolis Road towards Ft Meade. Turn right at Reece Road to Security and show Military ID or proceed to visitor inspection point. After Security, take the first left onto Ernie Pyle St. After passing through the traffic light, turn right at Llewellyn Ave then turn left on Wilson. The Guam Society picnic will be at Pavilion 4. Please do not park on the grass.
